Before You Ride Your Moped:
-Familiarize yourself with your moped before you ride. Read and understand the instruction manual and observe all safety and warning labels on your moped. Check the controls.
-Wear the proper clothing/pads including helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, wrist guards, gloves and shoes.
-Check the moped's equipment including the nuts and bolts, steering, brakes and controls, frame (for stress and fractures) and tires (for wear). Inspect your moped thoroughly before each use for loose or missing parts.
When Riding Your Moped:
-Do not dart out of driveways or from between parked cars.
-Stop at all stop signs. Be careful when checking traffic and don't swerve when looking over your shoulder.
-Always go with traffic flow and keep to the far side of the road.
-Always wear your safety gear.
-Never ride on sidewalks.
-Never ride with more than one person.
-Avoid gravel, sand, grass or rough surfaces.
-Remember that brakes are designed to control speed as well as stop a moped.
-Practice braking for slow-down and smooth stopping.

-Moped troubleshooting- Q: Why does my chain keep falling off? This can be caused by a bent chain or a chain that isn't aligned properly. First, you want to make sure the rear tire is straight. Just eyeball it and you should be able to tell if its straight or not. If it is not, loosen the nuts that hold the wheel in place. Adjust the tension screws until wheel is straight. If your chain still looks crooked, then you need to adjust the motor. To adjust the motor simply lay the scooter on its side so you can get to the bottom of the motor. You will see 3 screws. Loosen all 3 screws just a little. Straighten the motor until the chain looks straight and your chain will never fall off again.
-Air Filter Tips- The air filter is used to clean the air going into the engine. Periodic cleaning of this filter is recommended to protect your gas scooter engine against the damaging effects of dirt and abrasive particulates. Your air filter can be located on the front of the engine and the protective cover can be removed with one screw. When the protective cover is removed the air filter is revealed. You can also see the small workings of the choke and butterfly valve. The filter should be free from dirt and grease and appear clean like the one shown on the right. If there are contaminants on the filter it can be cleaned in a container of gasoline. Allow the filter to dry before re-installing it into your gas scooter.
