Before You Ride Your Moped:
-Familiarize yourself with your moped before you ride. Read and understand the instruction manual and observe all safety and warning labels on your moped. Check the controls.
-Wear the proper clothing/pads including helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, wrist guards, gloves and shoes.
-Check the moped's equipment including the nuts and bolts, steering, brakes and controls, frame (for stress and fractures) and tires (for wear). Inspect your moped thoroughly before each use for loose or missing parts.
When Riding Your Moped:
-Do not dart out of driveways or from between parked cars.
-Stop at all stop signs. Be careful when checking traffic and don't swerve when looking over your shoulder.
-Always go with traffic flow and keep to the far side of the road.
-Always wear your safety gear.
-Never ride on sidewalks.
-Never ride with more than one person.
-Avoid gravel, sand, grass or rough surfaces.
-Remember that brakes are designed to control speed as well as stop a moped.
-Practice braking for slow-down and smooth stopping.

-Moped scooter troubleshooting- Q: How do I adjust my brakes on my moped scooter? Pump the right brake lever while watching the left side of the front wheel, and you will see a lever moving. There's another lever just like it on the left side of the rear wheel connected by a cable to the left brake lever. Through this wheel lever, there's a threaded rod (which is the end of the cable) with a nut on it. Tighten this nut until the wheels lock up when pushing the moped and the handlebar levers are pulled in to about 1'2" from the handlebar grips. The cable adjustment nut fits a 14mm wrench, but you can probably adjust it close enough with just your fingers.
-Primer Tip- When a moped is brand new, been run out of gas, been sitting for a long period or is very cold, it may be necessary to 'prime' the carburetor before attempting to start it. This is accomplished with the primer pump bowl located at the bottom of the carburetor. Simply press and release this pump several times until gas can be seen flowing through the clear gas return line to the fuel tank. This will help start the scooter under the aforementioned conditions, however if this is done once the scooter has warmed up it may induce flooding.
